Thanks to everyone for all the effort that went into moderation, and to Heather for filling in the dreaded CAM sheets. Also, thanks for the efforts that went into Staff Tea, particularly Pat's home-made effort and Liz's last minute trolley dash! Apologies from myself and Jamie that we had to run off to play cricket - whilst JKy had a very promising debut, we lost and I was appalling. Would have been better for everyone if I'd stayed and done the washing up.
This week:
Pastoral meetings on Tuesday.
Co-operative Learning: Liz and I are holding a short meeting in on Weds in C5 to have a look at approaches to co-operative learning. I think that there is some valuable stuff here in terms of encouraging students to become more engaged and active in lessons, so come along at 3.10 if you have time.
Year 11: Thanks to Nicky for offering to run some revision sessions for Y11 - please refer to her email and send kids along. If anyone else would be willing to put on a session or two, please let me know, along with the topic you'd prefer to cover.
Behaviour: our detention system is currently being swamped by Y11 students who are then not turning up. Can I suggest that we leave Y11 out of this system from now on unless you feel it absolutely necessary. Thanks.
Have a great week,
Tom

Welcome Back Bulletin! 20 / 4 /09
Hi everyone, and welcome back to term 5... can't believe how fast this year is going! Particularly the holiday parts of it.
This week
Tuesday Moderation:
That's all really for this week, other than to say that I hope you all had a very restful and enjoyable break and are looking forward to the new term.

This week
Tuesday Moderation:
- Moderation is going ahead as planned on Tuesday, and I'm waiting for confirmation that we can use the Community Hall as per last year. If not, it might have to be the staff training room. The only slight problem is that AHr has contacted me to say that cover is proving very difficult. I am therefore proposing that Year 11 teachers take their classes as normal - I know that this isn't ideal, but it's difficult to see another way. There are also the obvious benefits that this will have for our students at this vital time also. So, please set cover for all lessons other than Year 11, and have folders ready to bring to wherever we end up on Tuesday.
- Tuesday's department meeting will be subsumed into the moderation process, so a separate agenda won't be produced.
That's all really for this week, other than to say that I hope you all had a very restful and enjoyable break and are looking forward to the new term.
Tom
