2. Reports/Assessment Points
Year 11 (Short): Fri 7th March
Year 12 (Full): Fri 7th March

3. SEN Review: Mon 3rd-Tues 4th March
Pat O'Shea and Lucy Mettyear will be conducting a review of Cheney's SEN provision next week. This will consist of lesson observations and learning walks by the review team and members of SLT.

Please see Amjad's email for all the necessary information but can we all make sure we:

• know who the SEN students are in all our classes (especially SEN-D students)
• have this clearly marked on seating plans, markbooks, lesson planning documents, etc
• are able to discuss/make explicit all the things we are doing for our SEN students (eg reading interventions at KS3, coursework interventions at KS4, Brookes learning mentors, etc)

4. Health and Safety
Please make sure that classrooms and communal areas are kept tidy - especially if large quantities of paper are building up. Please don't leave any sensitive/confidential information lying around or your computer unlocked if you are away from it.

2. Reports + APs
Year 13 long reports: extension until Mon breaktime for any non-completed reports

3. Job interviews - Tues and Wed
We are interviewing for part-time English Teacher on Tuesday and for a full-time English Teacher on Wednesday (including our very own Rachael Millar). There will be tea, coffee, biscuits in the dept office at breaktime on both days, please come along and meet the candidates.

4. KS3 Review
Many thanks for your professionalism on Wednesday. I'm aware that there was very little notice given and having a powercut half an hour before we were due to start was hardly perfect preparation. Which makes the performance all the more impressive: all lessons were judged 'Good' or 'Outstanding' and staff from John Mason were full of praise for all the staff they saw and for what we're trying to achieve as a department.

I'm aware that there were issues relating to the judgement and approach of the HMI who was part of the team and this is being discussed with SLT.

5. I Am Reading...
The SEN team have given us a stack of 'I Am Reading...' signs to put on classroom doors along with a picture of the book you are currently reading (use Google Images). Please grab one if you'd like to be part of the conversation.

3. KS3 Peer Review
Staff from John Mason School will be joining Cheney SLT to observe some KS3 lessons on Wed 5th Feb. For all details, please see my email.
If you have a lesson on Wednesday that it would be inappropriate to be observed (eg an intern taking the lesson), please let me know MONDAY MORNING, so I can alert the observation team before the schedule is put together.

4. INSET day feedback
If you found anything during your INSET day visit that you think would be a useful addition to our dept practice, please bring it with you to our dept meeting on Wednesday.
