3. GCSE English mock exam
This will run from P3 into lunch/P5. Teachers who teach 11a need to help out for the first 10/15 mins to settle students. 

If anyone is free P5 to help supervise students in the canteen, that would be fantastic.

4. Year 11 exam tier changes
If any Year 11 student needs to change exam tier, we need to let Jo Simpson know by Wed 25th March. If you have any students that you are unsure about, please mark their mock exam quickly and let Jo, myself and Maud know asap.

3. English mock exam: Mon 23rd March
All of Year 11 will sit their second English/English Language mock exam next week. The exam will start at the beginning of P3. If you are teaching Year 11 at this time (A side of the timetable), please can you go to either the Assembly Hall or the Dance Studio to help settle students into the exam. This should only take 10/15 mins or so, you won't be expected to stay for the duration!

Students will have a late lunch in P5. If anyone is free P5 and is able to help out in the canteen, it would be hugely appreciated.

3. Wednesday's curriculum planning meeting
Please meet in my room immediately after briefing on Wednesday - we have a lot to discuss regarding the new curriculum and how it affects our planning for next year.

4. Interventions
The next round of Year 11 exam skills intervention with CSW starts today - students and tutors know who they are and where they need to go.

MHL and JKY will be running IGCSE Speaking & Listening assessments all day on Tues 10th March. Students will come out of their normal lessons for approx 20-30 minutes.

JKY will be running an IGCSE coursework catch-up session for five students who are still have coursework pieces that are either missing or underachieving:

Corey Plowman
Alex Digweed
Kit Tavinor
Diana Silva

5. Staff and recruitment
Paul will be off for the next two weeks recovering from an operation. Andrew is back and on a scaling timetable while he works his way back to full fitness following his knee operation.

Congratulations to Ralph, who has secured a permanent contract as an English Teacher at Cheney. We are still waiting to confirm our second appointment.

3. Recruitment
Congratulations to Phoebe, who has been appointed Temporary KS3 Leader, taking over when Paul goes off to Bayards in June.

We are also recruiting for a permanent English Teacher on Thursday, please come along to the Dept Office in morning break to meet the candidates, including Ralph.

4. GP Taylor workshops: Wed 4th March
As part of World Book Day (actually on Thursday!) GP Taylor, author of Shadowmancer, Wormwood and Tersias, will be running workshops with some Year 8 students (P2) and some Year 9 students (P3). Staff teaching those year groups in those lesson slots already know to take their groups over to the Assembly Hall, but if anyone else is free and would like to join in, please feel free to do so.


5. Staff absence
Welcome back to Andrew, who is recovering from his knee-op and will be on a reduced timetable for the next couple of weeks until his knee is fully recovered.


Please be aware that Paul will be off from Friday, most likely until after Easter, though possibly back the week before. Please direct any KS3 questions to JKY.
