Welcome back everyone!
This week:
- Thursday: OFSTED briefing in Hall after school
This term:
Exams
Thanks in advance for all the work that will go into prepaing exam classes in this crucial term. A couple of points to keep in mind:
- Booster sessions
Please see the timetable of lunch and after-school sessions for this term, and encourage students to attend. I've tried to make the lunch sessions in particular very much skills-based, so this might be an opportunity to re-engage students with their mock exam feedback and focus on what skills they need to work on.
- Coursework
A reminder that coursework was a weakness in our students’ performance last year, with a significant difference in the performance of our students compared with similar centres. Therefore, thanks for ensuring that coursework is completed to a high standard and that any outstanding gaps are filled. Feel free to use the computers in C5 for this purpose if you have students needing to write work up, and see the booster / coursework session timetable for catch-up sessions after school.
I’ve also put together and emailed round a booklet of catch-up tasks for Lang / Lit which students can use if they have missed tasks entirely. It’s difficult to provide access to the top grades, particularly in the EN2 / Lit tasks, but it’s much better that students can produce something rather than having incomplete folders.
